Often contractors will replace valleys with a ‘dry’ valley which means there is no mortar used. We have found that over time these develop problems as the get clogged up with moss, leaves and dirt which can cause a blockage and a build up of water can leak inside. this why we prefer to use a ‘wet’ fibreglass valley in all of our installations which simply means it is mortared. As well as this all of the lead flashing were changed, with bigger lead soakers at the sides supplied. We also have bespoke specially made lead back gutters for all chimneys that require it.
